For our first 29 years, Hebrew Free Loan Society was entirely volunteer-operated, with no paid staff and no formal office. Our board members and other volunteers handled all the work involved in giving loans, collecting loan payments, raising funds, publicizing our work, and administering the Society. In 2013, we hired our first employee, a part-time Executive Director, whose work focuses on outreach and fundraising. Our board members and other volunteers continue to handle the day-to-day work of giving loans.
We can always use more help. We’re especially looking for people to help with spreading the word about our work, and raising funds, as well as those with business experience to help us evaluate applications for business loans.
If you can offer as little as a few hours a month, send us an email and we’ll find a way to put you to work.
